On 27.02.2025 & 28.02.2025, a “A session on Mentoring and Evaluation of Innovative Project Ideas by the Innovation Ambassadors” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of MCA. The session was handled by Ms.S.Bernisha, Assistant Professor, Department of AIDS, FXEC from 9.30AM to 4.00 PM. 56 students and 2 faculties participated. The program was coordinated by Dr. M.Vijaya Maheswari, EDC Co-Ordinator Assistant Professor, Department of MCA, Francis Xavier Engineering College. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.
The program started with the welcome address by Dr. M.Vijaya Maheswari, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA and introduced the guest speaker. The seminar began with an overview of providing insights into assessing, refining, and enhancing innovative projects. The session aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills to systematically evaluate project feasibility, impact, and sustainability. The Innovation Ambassadors, experienced in mentoring the innovative ideas and measuring the outcomes against set objectives were used to evaluate the innovative projects presented by the students. The technical experts emphasized the importance of structured evaluation frameworks that help in identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and potential risks associated with innovative ideas.
The students presented their project ideas which was evaluated by the mentors about the feasibility and the impact assessment metrics. Projects under different categories like research projects, application projects, innovative ideas and digital marketing ideas were presented by the students. Research projects like lung cancer prediction analysis, Natural Language Processing (NLP) using machine learning were presented. Projects like sentiment analysis using deep learning was also presented. Different application-based projects like blood donation hub using spring boot, an interactive chat application using UI/UX were presented. Mentors suggested few modifications and improvisation for the seamless functioning of the projects. One student presented Cryptocurrency prediction project which was developed using Python was also presented. This particular project uses Tensor Flow and Python for cryptocurrency prediction for 10 different cryptocurrencies. Digital marketing was also an important aspect of this project presentation. Students developed digital marketing tools to be used for the budding entrepreneurs and for Instagram influencers. Bridging Sign Language and speech recognition project was also presented which was an interesting one. Applications like health care, flight fare calculation, guest accommodation monitoring, and meal ordering platforms were developed using Android Studio and Flutter which were quite interesting Real-world examples were presented to illustrate how innovation-driven strategies to develop their ideas evolve into viable solutions. The session also addressed common challenges faced in developing innovative projects. An interactive discussion followed, where participants had an opportunity to present their project ideas and receive constructive feedback from the Innovation Ambassadors.
