ALUMNI INTERACTION on “From Code to Career: Leveraging Projects and GitHub for Job Opportunities ”, 26 th July 2025

An Alumni Event was organized for II MCA students on behalf of the MCA Department and DAWN Association. Mr. A. Navin Kumar (2021 Batch Alumnus), Software Developer, TCS, Bangalore, shared his ideas and experiences related to project building, GitHub usage, and placement experiences. Mrs. D. Angeline Ranjithamani, HOD/MCA, introduced the resource persons. The resource persons shared about the placement opportunities and their experiences.

It was great to see so many alumni back on campus for the guest speech. The speaker was very engaging and shared some great ideas. He also had great advice for the students.

Here are some tips about the Placements :

• Focus on creating hands-on, real-world projects that showcase your problem-solving skills and domain expertise.
• Regularly update your GitHub with clean, well-documented code to demonstrate your technical abilities and collaboration skills.
• Choose the best projects and include them in your resume with links, explaining the technologies used and your role in the development.
• Gain proficiency in Git and GitHub workflows (branching, pull requests, commits) to align with industry-standard development practices.
• Apply for internships to gain practical experience, improve your confidence, and increase your chances of placement in top companies.

Overall, it was a great event, and the students appreciated the opportunity to interact with alumni and found the session highly informative and insightful. The event was coordinated by Mrs. J. Anciline Jenifer, AP/MCA.
