A webinar session was organized by AICTE on the title “Building YUKTI Innovation Repositories in IIC Institutions: Productizing Campus Ideas & Boosting Innovation Funding for Startup Opportunities” to the students and faculty members of the IIC Institutions. LCD presentation of the webinar was viewed by the students and many faculties participated through their PC’s. The resource person of the session was Mr. Dipan Sahu, currently Assistant Innovation Director at the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education (MIC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. 09 students and 41 faculty participated in the webinar. This event was coordinated by Dr. R Prem Ananth, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
Mr. Dipan Sahu, as Assistant Innovation Director, began the session by introducing the YUKTI platform, a National Innovation Repository to upload the innovative ideas, Prototypes and startups by the students and faculty of the IIC Institutions across India.
Mr. Sahu emphasized that the YUKTI portal is not just a documentation tool but a strategic framework to connect student innovators, faculty researchers, incubators, industry mentors, and funding agencies. He explained how uploading innovative ideas onto the portal provides visibility at the national level and facilitates networking for product development, incubation, and commercialization.
The YUKTI Innovation Challenge 2025 is a national-level competition that invites student teams and faculty innovators from IIC institutions to submit their problem-solving ideas, working prototypes, or Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). The ideas must be technologically feasible, socially relevant, and potentially scalable.
The AICTE Productization Fellowship is a grant-based support scheme to help convert academic innovations into market-ready products. It provides funding and technical mentorship to shortlisted innovators whose ideas have already reached the MVP or prototype stage.
