An Exposure Visit on “Exposure Visit to SDR Polymers and Venus Home Appliances, Tuticorin” was organized on 27.11.2025 by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Management Studies, FXEC. The one-day visit, conducted under the IIC/MIC-driven activity category with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and pre-incubation themes, enabled students to gain firsthand industrial exposure. A total of 50 students and 3 faculty members visited the company. The primary objective of the visit was to familiarize students with entrepreneurial practices such as production planning, cost control, and market-oriented manufacturing at SDR Polymers and Venus Home Appliances.

During the visit to SDR Polymers, students observed the complete manufacturing process of polymer-based products, including raw material preparation, moulding, finishing, and quality testing. The production team explained sourcing methods, cost-efficiency strategies, safety protocols, and workforce management techniques adopted to maintain consistency and competitiveness in the market. At Venus Home Appliances, students gained insights into product design, assembly, and testing procedures and learned about pricing strategies, retail distribution channels, and after-sales services essential to the consumer appliance sector. The interaction also highlighted how small- and medium-scale enterprises scale operations gradually through continuous improvement, branding, and efficient utilization of resources.

The exposure visit offered valuable entrepreneurial learning by demonstrating how MSMEs operate, innovate, and sustain themselves in competitive environments. Students acquired practical knowledge in production management, quality assurance, technology application, and customer-centric business strategies, which strengthened their understanding of real-world entrepreneurship. The visit concluded with positive feedback from participants, who expressed increased motivation to explore startup opportunities and scalable business ventures in the future.
