Guest Lecture “Foundations of Software Testing: Ensuring Quality in the Digital Era

The seminar on "Foundations of Software Testing: Ensuring Quality in the Digital Era provided the insights on shift towards Agile and DevOps methodologies, with their emphasis on continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), has transformed testing from a gatekeeping function into a continuous activity. The rise of Test Automation is central to this, enabling the rapid execution of regression tests and providing fast feedback to developers. Additionally, the speaker highlighted Test Planning (defining objectives, scope, and strategy), Test Analysis & Design (creating test cases based on requirements and risks), Test Implementation (preparing test data and environments), Test Execution (running tests and logging results), and Test Closure (evaluating completion criteria and generating reports). To navigate the impossibility of exhaustive testing, testers employ a variety of techniques. The speaker also stressed the role of Selenium and Postman. The session concluded with a robust understanding of its foundations empowers organizations to deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality software, thereby ensuring user satisfaction, protecting brand reputation, and achieving success in the competitive digital landscape. Students found the training program to be very useful. The session ended with positive feedback from the students.
