FXEC Department of Management Studies (FXDOMS) organized a guest lecture on “Understanding Personality and Motivation at Work” on 08.11.2025 from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the MBA Seminar Hall. The session was delivered by Mr. R. Dani Jackson, Assistant Manager – Performance and Rewards, KONE Elevator India Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. Mr. M. Sivaprakash I MBA delivered the welcome address and Ms. Priyadharshini, I MBA introduced the Chief guest. The objective of the guest lecture was to provide MBA I Year students with practical insights into workplace behaviour, personality theories, motivation techniques, and corporate learning and development practices. The resource person began by explaining the significance of personality in organizations and elaborated on major theories such as Trait Theory and Type Theory (MBTI), highlighting how personality differences influence communication, teamwork, and leadership. He also discussed the importance of employee motivation and covered Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, McClelland's Need Theory, linking each concept to real-time HR practices.
The session also emphasized the role of Learning and Development (L&D) in talent enhancement, introducing students to various training methods and corporate approaches to employee development. The lecture was highly appreciated by the students for being relevant, informative, and engaging, with many expressing interest in similar sessions in the future. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. S. Ramalakshmi, I MBA. The event was coordinated by Dr. D. Hepzibah Vinsyah Jeyaseeli, AP/MBA under the guidance of Dr. D.
