On 05.08.2025 a session was organized on the title “Entrepreneurship - A Driving Force to Scale up the Innovative Mind” by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC through offline mode in association with the Department of Management Studies. The session was handled by Mr. S. M. Sunder Rajan. Assistant Professor. Mechanical Engineering, FXEC. 40 II year MBA students and 1 faculty participated in the program. This event was coordinated by Dr.V.M.Sangeetha, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The resource person demonstrated the role of entrepreneurship in fostering innovation, through real-life success stories, highlighted essential skills. The resource person highlighted entrepreneurial skills such as Market Research – Identifying customer needs and market gaps, Business Modelling – Designing sustainable revenue models, Financial Planning – Managing budgets for R&D and expansion, Leadership – Leading cross-functional teams and Pitching & Fundraising – Securing investor support.
The speaker insisted on exploring potential areas in emerging sectors, including Sustainability and green technologies – Innovations that reduce environmental impact by using renewable energy, eco-friendly materials, and energy-efficient processes, Automation and robotics – The use of machines and AI systems to perform tasks with minimal human intervention, increasing efficiency and precision, Additive manufacturing (3D printing) – A process of creating objects layer-by-layer from digital designs, enabling customization and reduced material waste and Smart materials for medical and aerospace use – Materials that can change properties in response to external conditions, enhancing performance in healthcare devices and aerospace engineering.
The resource person emphasized the idea that entrepreneurship, when combined with innovation, has the power to reshape industries and create scalable, impactful solutions.. Aspiring entrepreneurs must cultivate essential skills, leverage emerging technologies, and adopt proven frameworks to thrive in today’s competitive environment.
