The Department of Management Studies (FXDOMS) successfully organized a Skill Training Session on Finance on 18th August 2025. The session was conducted by Mr. Wilfred Syril, an esteemed alumnus of the 2018–2020 MBA batch and currently a Research Scholar at VIT. Mr. Wilfred provided a comprehensive overview of equity derivatives, focusing on their structure, valuation, risk management, and strategic applications in investment decision-making.
Through practical examples and analytical discussions, students learned how futures and options are used for hedging and speculation in equity markets. The session also emphasized the significance of derivatives in portfolio diversification and financial planning. The interactive session encouraged participants to clarify doubts, analyze case examples, and connect theoretical knowledge with real-time market practices. The program greatly contributed to building students’ financial literacy, analytical capability, and market competence. The department expressed its sincere gratitude to Mr. Wilfred Syril for sharing his valuable expertise and contributing to the professional development of FXDOMS students.
