WORKSHOP ON “INVESTING IN STOCK MARKET

The Department of Management Studies of Francis Xavier Engineering College, in association with the FXDOMS Finance Club, organized a workshop on “Investing in Stock Market” on 13th February 2026. The session was handled by experts from Geojit Financial Services Ltd., namely Mr. Ganesh Bharath (Branch Head), Mr. Venkatesh (Equity and Commodity Dealer), and Mr. Antony (Assistant Manager). The workshop provided students with knowledge about stock market basics, types of stocks, risk and return, and long- term investment benefits. The speakers explained fundamental analysis, including financial statement evaluation and company performance assessment. Students were also guided through the process of buying stocks, opening Demat and trading accounts, and understanding order types. The session highlighted the use of stock screening tools and discussed investment strategies such as diversification, value investing, and risk management. An interactive session and quiz helped reinforce students’ understanding. The afternoon technical session was handled by Dr. D. Annie Rose Nirmala, who provided hands-on training in stock market analysis. She demonstrated sector-wise comparison of companies and trained students on using the Zerodha trading platform for real-time price tracking, chart analysis, and order placement. The workshop enhanced students’ practical knowledge and encouraged responsible investment practices. Overall, the workshop enhanced students’ financial literacy and provided valuable practical exposure to stock market investment and trading. The program was coordinated by Dr. D.
