In the “NIRF India Innovation Ranking 2023” (National Institutional Ranking Framework) by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli has topped the rank in the Band 51-100 placing the institution as one of the best institutions in India among Higher Education Institutions including Universities for its enhanced performance under the 7 major components with the weightage of 700 points. In Tamil Nadu, on receiving this ranking Francis Xavier Engineering College is now placed on top of all the Institutions in the 4 Southern Districts of Tamil Nadu including Kanyakumari, Tuticorin, Tenkasi and Tirunelveli.
