A Career Choice for the Engineering Graduates

On 22.04.2024 a Talk on " Startup: A Career Choice for the Engineering Graduates" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The session was handled by Mr. J. Antony Robinson, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 01.30 PM – 4.30 PM. 41 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha AP/EEE. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.

The program started with the welcome address by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. She started his welcome address by explaining the motto of IIC and the theme of IIC. She said entrepreneurship, startup, innovation and Intellectual Property rights were the themes of IIC.

The resource person started his speech with the introduction to entrepreneurship and gave lot of examples of Indian Startups. He said developing the startup is not an easy job and to make it successful will be very difficult job. He gave the inspirational stories like startup founders Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Sara Blakely. Moreover, he explained the process of developing the startup and making use of local resources for the development of startups. He explained the skills to be developed to manage the startup and adaptability to the situation problem solving and cross -functional collaboration. He also explained the funding resources for developing the startup. He also explained the challenges and risks associated with the startup and the steps to be taken to overcome the same. The participants gained knowledge and understanding about the functioning of startup and the development of startup.
