A Discussion on “Innovation and Startup Ecosystem Enablers

On 21.06.2022 a discussion was organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution lnnovation Council in association with the Department of Computer Applications on the topic “Innovation and Startup Ecosystem Enablers”. The Session was handled by Mr.M.Esakkiraj, AP/MCA, Francis Xavier Engineering, Tirunelveli from 3.00pm - 4.00 pm. The discussion was organized for the MCA staff and students.

The resource person explained the various stages of innovation like Idea Generation and Mobilization, Advocacy and Screening, Experimentation, Commercialization, Diffusion and Implementation. He gave lot of examples relating to all the stages involved in innovation. He explained the players involved in the startup ecosystem. He explained the startup enablers like Investors, Mentors, networks and Market Access for early-stage entrepreneurs. The resource person said that innovation takes birth in sync with the evolution of customer’s expectations and demands. Either way, organisations have to continually innovate themselves and keep up with the people’s wants. The failure to do so or being indifferent to the customer’s needs will make the competitors win. The resource person highlighted the role of each startup enablers and how they are supporting the startup founders during the early stage of developing the startup.

The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivated and the students participated in the discussion gained a lot by raising useful questions relating to the process of innovation and the startup enablers. 40 students and 2 faculties were actively participated in the session.
