Alumni Interaction-Foundations and Practices of Data Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an Alumni Interaction for final-year students on August 9, 2025, featuring Mr. Cetric Elaens, Manager – Data Engineering Analytics at Genpact, Bangalore, as the resource person.

In his engaging session on “Foundations and Practices of Data Engineering”, Mr. Elaens spoke about how data engineering forms the backbone of today’s data-driven world. He walked students through essential concepts such as data modeling, data pipelines, ETL processes, database design, and cloud-based data platforms, while stressing the importance of data quality, governance, scalability, and security in real-world applications.
