On 09th June, 2022 a “Angel Investment Opportunities for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institution’s Innovation Council in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at 11:00 am to 12.00 pm. Dr.S.M.Rajkumar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, FXEC was the resource person. The program was held via offline mode. Dr.R.K.A.Bhalaji, AP/Mech inaugurated the workshop with welcome address.
The resource person explained the need for entering entrepreneurship and the government support available for starting a startup. He mentioned that the Angel Investment is one of the opportunity available for mobilizing necessary finance for starting the entrepreneurial activities. The speaker also said that the angel investment is one of the opportunities for early-stage entrepreneurs and discussed about the benefits and limitations of using angel investment. He also gave few examples for the Angel Investors operating in Tamil Nadu.
In addition to this said that extremely affluential people provide capital for needy but deserving business start-ups in exchange for convertible debt or ownership equity. These days many of them are investing online through equity crowdfunding. Organizing themselves into angel networks to pool their capital and provide advice to portfolio companies. 30 students and 1 staff member participated in the program and benefited through this.
