1st July 2022 FX Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a motivational talk on "Avenues to Earn while Learn through Indigenous Home Automated Product ". Mr. J. Jeremy Jeba Samuel, Professor/Mech, FXEC delivered the Guest Lecture on the topic of the day. Ms.M.Krithika AP/EEE coordinated the program.

The resource person explained the process of developing the knowledge about the home automation using IoT software, hardwares, sensors, protocols, architecture and platforms which can be used for developing the home automated products. He said that there are three main elements of a home automation system namely sensors, controllers, and actuators. Of which sensors can monitor changes in daylight, temperature, or motion detection whereas home automation systems can then adjust those settings according the preferences. The speaker also said that Applications of IoT-enabled connectivity are home security, air quality monitoring, infotainment delivery, smart lock etc. He asked questions to the participants like, What really would compel someone to actually develop a product which is a complete IoT-based home automation system? Could it be the need to improve the safety of your home, could it be the desire to live a Jetson-like life that millennials always dreamt of.

The speaker presented some of the areas where consumers can expect to see home automation led IoT-enabled connectivity such as Lighting control, HVAC, Lawn/Gardening management, Smart Home Appliances, Improved Home safety and security, Home air quality and water quality monitoring, Natural Language-based voice assistants, Better Infotainment delivery, AI-driven digital experiences, Smart Switches, Smart Locks, Smart Energy Meters.

The resource person after highlighting all the home automated products, he explained how it can be converted into a business model to earn revenue out of the same. 38 students and 2 staff members participated in the program and benefitted out of the session.
