Awareness on the Process on Innovation and Product Development

On 25th Nov. 2022 Entrepreneur Development cell and IIC in association with Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized an Expert Talk on the topic "Awareness on the Process on Innovation and Product Development".Mr.G.Guna, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, FXEC was the resource person. 65 students and 1 staff member participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Mrs.Amala Manuela, EDC Coordinator of EEE and AP/EEE.

The resource person explained the meaning of the term innovation and the process of innovation. He said the innovation process begins with a creative idea or solution to a problem, followed by analysis to determine is it worth turning that idea or solution into the next innovative product or service. The analysis can lead to develop a preliminary design or prototype. Further, vetting examines to determine whether an investment should be made to move on to production of the product or implementation of the service. While preparing for customers, the focus shifts to commercialization activities, such as marketing, branding, business development, and sales. The resource person gave lot of live examples to explain the concept and to motivate the students to involve in the product development.

The students participated with full enthusiasm and raised lot of questions which helped the participants to know the process of innovation and the benefits to the students to become an innovator.
