Awareness program for MSME Champion Scheme: Idea Hackathon 2.0

On 04.11.2022 an Awareness program for “MSME Champion Scheme: Idea Hackathon 2.0” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the MSME FXEC Business Incubator. The Session was handled by Smt. G. Jerina Bubby, Assistant Director, Branch MSME DFO, Tirunelveli. The students from Incubation centers, MSME Idea Hackathon 2.0 applied students and faculties from FXEC along with Southern Zone faculties (Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and Thuthukudi) participated. The program was coordinated by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 9.30AM - 12.30 PM.

The program was started by a prayer song and Prayer by MBA students. The welcome address was given by Dr Lourdes Poobala Rayen, IIC President, he welcome the gathering and explained the importance of startup, need for Funding at early stages of startup and he gave brief introduction about MSME. The Chief quest was introduced by MBA student. The guest speaker Smt. G. Jerina Bubby, said that Entrepreneurs are the basis of social change that India aspires for filling the gaps and provide solutions required by the people. She started explain each themes of MSME idea Hackathon. She explained each theme with an example, for example she addressed Coconut shell to Activated Charcoal for the waste management theme. In this manner the chief guest address each theme with different examples. The she read out the eleven instruction, explained each instruction and addressed the students and faculties queries. She also explained the four stages of evaluation of ideas and then she concluded the session by explaining the Mandate for Ideas. The Session came to end by the Vote of thanks presented by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener.
