On 26th August 2022 the Entrepreneurship Development cell and IIC in association with Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a guest lecture on the topic “Awareness Programme on Entrepreneurship & Innovation" as a part of Celebration day activity (World Entrepreneurs Day). Mr.Avinash ,Innovation Voucher, Director &CEO , INCRIX Techlutions LLP and Mrs.Ashwathy Mohan, TNSI-EDII Project Contest Winner were the guest speakers. This event was coordinated by Mr.A.Amala Manuela AP/EEE. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.

Resource person explained that Entrepreneurship is the ability and readiness to develop, organize and run a business enterprise, along with any of its uncertainties in order to make a profit. The most prominent example of entrepreneurship is the starting of new businesses. He also explained about the various entrepreneurial opportunities for the engineering students.

He stressed the engineering students to develop knowledge and skills regarding the industry 4.0 for developing innovative ideas and to develop startups. He said that nowadays, people can use technology to automate anything, from manufacturing to space exploration. He also said that Incrix provides comprehensive enterprise-level automation solutions to enhance the end-user experience.

SESSION 2

Mrs.Ashwathy Mohan, Tamil Nadu Startup Innovators -Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute Tamil Nadu Project Contest Winner delivered a Guest Lecture on the topic “Awarness Programme on Enterpreneurship & Innovation ". She explained about the TNSI-2021 (Tamil Nadu Student Innovators) as a flagship programme which has identified student innovators and reward them to build a Minimum Viable Product to convert their ideas into a Start-Up from all over Tamil Nadu. The student teams are provided opportunity to give their innovative ideas as a solution to identified validated problem statements in the field of agriculture, industry, smart cities, health care, fintech and automobile sectors.

Contest Process includes;

  • Stage 1: Entrepreneurship Awareness programmes
  • Stage 2: Ideation (IDEA) Camp- (Design Thinking, Business plan preparation)
  • Stage 3: Boot Camp
  • Stage 4. State Level Pitch
  • Stage 5. Fellowship/Prototyping

All the participants involved enthusiastically in all the deliberations and interacted with the resource persons and gained a lot. 52 students and 2 faculty members participated in the program
