On 31.8.2024 a guest talk on " Building a Resilient Business: Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Change" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The session was handled by C. Vethakkan Rajkumar M. E., Proprietor, Priyan Electrical and Plumbing from 01.30 PM – 4.30 PM. 40 students and 1 faculty participated in the program. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha AP/EEE. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director. The program started with the welcome address by Dr. A. Ravi, HoD, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The external resource person, began with an explanation of importance of resilience in business. He explained the significance of understanding the changing business landscape and explored how to identify potential challenges and risks. He discussed developing a proactive mindset, emphasizing the need to cultivate a forward-thinking mentality and continuously scan the horizon for potential disruptions and opportunities to stay ahead of the curve.
He also highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of adaptability, which includes embracing change, empowering employees, implementing flexible processes, and promoting continuous learning. Additionally, he talked about implementing effective crisis management strategies, such as assessing risks, developing a plan, and training and preparing employees. Furthermore, he explained the role of leveraging technology to build resilience, diversifying revenue streams, and optimizing operations. He also emphasized the importance of cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders, embracing change, and building a resilient future.
