On 19.08.2024 a Talk on "Converting Engineering Skills into Startup Ventures " was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The session was handled by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 01.30 PM – 4.30 PM. 56 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha AP/EEE. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.
Resource person M. Mary Sumitha, explained the need for entrepreneurship, innovation, key characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, global entrepreneurship trends, challenges faced by entrepreneurs, qualities of an entrepreneurial mindset, and insights into the future of entrepreneurship. During the session, she gave an informative insight regarding the need to develop a motor rewinding startup. She stressed upon the need to develop the appropriate skills which should be inculcated in any individual to become entrepreneurs. She also recalled the construction of motors, types of motor, why do motor fail. She also explained the step-by-step procedure for electrical rewinding. Her session served as a motivation and encouragement for young minds who are aiming to become entrepreneurs. The session was of great benefit for all the engineers who are planning for their startup business. The session boosted their motivation to the next level. The participants asked few questions during the session which were clarified using appropriate examples.
