On 27.11.2023 a session on " Creativity: A Seed Bed for Idea Generation " was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Management Studies department and IIC. The session was handled by Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen Director EDC and IIC president Francis Xavier Engineering College from 01.30 PM- 04.30 PM. 40 students and one faculty participated.
The session started with the welcome address by Dr.V.M.Sangeetha, EDC coordinator of Management Studies, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The resource person started his speech by highlighting the benefits of being an entrepreneur. He asked students to write any 3 common problems they face in their day-to-day life. Students have written the problems after that he asked them to find out a probable solution to the problems identified. Students started identifying problems and possible solutions and few students voluntarily presented their views. He then continued his session by suggested few entrepreneur websites like keeraikadai.com, ruralbasket.com and government schemes like PMFME for promotion of food processing unit which provide a loan value up to 1 Crore and provide subsidies, NEEDS (New Entrepreneur cum enterprise Development Scheme) provides the financial assistance upto Rs.5 Crore and Credit Guarantee scheme. He also suggested to see the Business Opportunities in the YouTube channel to explore the right opportunity.
Students came forward with their creative business ideas. During the presentation, resource person encouraged and suggested few changes in their ideas. He gave lot of information about the food processing and instant food demand and how the parts of Neem tree and Drumstick tree have been exported and value-added products are used in recent times in Business. It was a thoughtful session. He shared a valuable insight to students
