A Talk on "Cultivating Creativity and Business Acumen the Key for Entrepreneurship" was organized on December 29, 2023, by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The session was led by Mrs. M. Subashini, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 01.30 PM – 4.30 PM. The event was attended by 43 students and 2 faculty members and was coordinated by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha, AP/EEE. The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director. The event started with a welcome address by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha, who explained the motto and theme of IIC, emphasizing entrepreneurship, startups, innovation, and Intellectual Property rights. She also welcomed all the students, encouraged the students to listen and requested all the students to raise more doubts and make the sessions more interactive. Mrs. M. Subashini, the internal resource person, then began with the Significance of Creativity and Business Acumen, exploring successful entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, and R. G. Chandramogan. She explained Cultivating Creativity, Developing Business Acumen, and competencies. Mrs. Subashini also talked about risk-taking, resilience, practicing mindfulness, analyzing failures objectively, developing a growth mindset, and having a strong work ethic and a continuous learning attitude. The session concluded with an interactive session between the resource person and students, which was very clear, understandable, and informative. The session ended with a vote of thanks by the coordinator, Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha, AP/EEE, FXEC.
