On 12th January 2023 an expert talk was organized on “Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building” by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of FXEC Tirunelveli and Institution’s Innovation Council in association with Civil Engineering Department. The speaker for the program was Mrs.P. Raja Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli. First year civil engineering students attended the session. The session was coordinated by Dr.G.Ginni, Assistant Professor, Department of civil engineering. 42 students and 2 faculties from the department of civil engineering attended the session.

Every year national youth day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as his ideologies have been a driving force for country’s youth. The speaker mentioned that according to Vivekananda Education meant secular learning that built character and instilled human values in students. Therefore the students should be properly educated and guided as they are the future of the nation. The statistics about the youth population in India and the stories of successful startups of young minds were also shared with the students. As research and innovations are the backbone of the country’s development the students were educated about the importance of startups. The initiatives of the government for the youth like Skill India, Make in India were also mentioned by the speaker. The importance of role of youth in various sectors like business / IT, politics, administration services, research and society were shared with the students. The students took oath on the words of Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam for the students and youth. The session ended with the note that “Education and empowerment are the two most important factors that the youth of our country should be enlightened about. Hence it is always important to facilitate the overall development of the youth to ensure the development of our nation”.
