Design Thinking for Problem Solution Fit

On 30th December, 2023 an expert talk on “Design Thinking for Problem Solution Fit” was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institution’s Innovation Council in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at 01:30 pm to 04.30 pm. Dr.J.Sangili Muthukumar, AP/Mech, FXEC was the resource person. Dr.R.K.A.Bhalaji, AP/MECH coordinated the program.

The resource person explained the design thinking concept in a detail manner with live examples. He also explained the process of design thinking giving a suitable examples. Resource person said that the design thinking concept can be used effectively to solve the critical problems. The expert talk stressed the importance of incorporating user feedback into the design process. By involving end-users early and often, teams can refine and iterate upon their solutions effectively. This user-centric approach ensures that the final solution is well-aligned with the user’s needs and expectations. The session featured real-world case studies and success stories that showcased the effective application of design thinking in diverse industries. These examples provided concrete illustrations of how organizations have achieved problem-solution fit through adopting a design thinking mindset. Students learned how a well-defined problem statement is essential for guiding the ideation and solution development phases. Students gained insights into rapidly building prototypes to gather feedback and refine solutions. Finally students left the session equipped with practical tools, techniques and a renewed perspective on problem-solving, fostering innovation and user satisfaction.
