On 19.10.2024, a session on "E-Commerce: A Gateway to Entrepreneurship" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Information Technology. The session was handled by Dr. A. Prem Ananth, IIC Convener and Innovation Ambassador, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli, from 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM. A total of 52 Students and two faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel, AP/IT. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.

The program started with a welcome address by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel, featuring the significance of advancement in the E-Commerce and the role of entrepreneurs. The guest speaker gave a case study to inspire and draw the attention of the students. Moreover, the he said E-commerce in 2024 offers significant growth opportunities but also presents challenges. Businesses must adapt to emerging trends, focus on scalability and security, and follow best practices to position their business for success. He list few live examples to the students to reflect on it and to assess the opportunities it throws for developing the same as a business venture. He asked to the students to embrace the opportunities and build a thriving online presence to thrive in the future.

The presentation was thought provoking and students were impressed by the examples cited by the guest speaker. Few students asked some clarifications about developing the online business and the legal formalities in starting the same. The guest speaker gave a fitting reply and created a vibration among the students. In fact, the interaction provoked good response among the students and the students felt happy about the useful discussion during the session
