The FX Enviro Club organized an Essay Writing Competition on the topic “Eliminating Single Use Plastic” on 23rd February 2026 at AK005 from 3.00 PM to 4.00 PM. The event was conducted under the guidance of Mrs. S. Sathyadevi, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering. The competition aimed to create awareness among students about the pressing environmental issues caused by single-use plastics and to promote eco-friendly alternatives.
The primary objective of the competition was to sensitize students to the harmful effects of plastic pollution and encourage them to adopt sustainable practices. The event sought to inspire young minds to think critically about environmental conservation and to understand their responsibility in reducing plastic consumption in daily life.
The program began with a brief address by the Staff Coordinator, who emphasized the urgent need to eliminate single-use plastics. She highlighted the environmental consequences such as soil degradation, water pollution, threats to marine life, and long-term ecological imbalance. Students were motivated to present innovative ideas and practical solutions through their essays.
