On 26.02.2024 a session on "Empowering Entrepreneurial success through Innovation and design thinking" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems. The Session was handled by Dr.M.Prem Ananth IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for “Design Thinking and Innovations” Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Communication Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Vannarpettai , from 09.30 AM - 12.30 PM. 50 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by A.Arthy AP/CSBS.

The program started with the welcome address by Ms.A.Arthy, AP/CSBS Francis Xavier Engineering College. She introduced the guest speaker. The guest speaker started the speech by explaining the Innovation which is the process of translating creative ideas into practical solutions that deliver value to customers or society. He discussed that Innovative entrepreneurs are individuals who have the capability of creating and bringing innovative products to the market. He also said that the Innovative entrepreneurship can help professionals develop ideas to successfully manage businesses. He said that by understanding this concept it can help you to become a successful entrepreneur. He discussed an inspiring example of innovation and entrepreneurship exemplified by Lily Born and her invention, the Kangaroo Cup. He also discussed the remarkable entrepreneurial journey of a young individual who turned a simple passion for making jams into a thriving business venture. At the age of 14, Doherty embarked on an inspiring journey that exemplifies the essence of entrepreneurship, determination, and innovation. He discussed an exemplary innovation in the field of mosquito control—a mosquito-catching machine developed by students at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) that operates without the use of any chemicals.

The students left the session with a renewed sense of purpose, armed with valuable insights that will undoubtedly shape their entrepreneurial journeys.
