On 27.07.2023 a Guest Lecture on "Entrepreneurial Eco System to Promote Startups" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Master of Computer Application. The Session was handled by Ms.A.Abinaya, Technical Freelancer Trainer & Entrepreneur, Event Manager from 10.00 AM - 12.30 PM. 60 students and 2 faculties participated in the program. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. K.Subbulakshmi AP/MCA.

The program started with the welcome address by Mrs. D. Angeline Ranjithamani HOD-MCA, Francis Xavier Engineering College. She said entrepreneurship is one of the important activity which helps the engineers to choose entrepreneurship as the career option. The guest speaker Ms. A. Abinaya started her the speech by giving explanation to entrepreneurial ecosystem and the various players in the ecosystem. The guest being the entrepreneur she described the ups and downs in her entrepreneurial journey.

She highlighted the major components of entrepreneurial ecosystem such as people, technology, capital, and infrastructure. She also gave information about the different types of entrepreneurial ecosystem such as 1) entrepreneurial finance, 2) government policy, 3) government entrepreneurship programs, 4) entrepreneurship education, 5) research & development transfer, 6) commercial & legal infrastructure, 7) market openness, 8) physical infrastructure, and 9) cultural & social norms. She gave examples while explaining the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Moreover, she said that If the location has favorable policies and regulations, particularly those that provide specialized benefits such as tax breaks, visas, grants, and laws for startups, these are extremely valuable components for startup ecosystem promotion, make sure to let potential entrepreneurs from all over the world know about it

She said the entrepreneurial ecosystems drives local economic vibrancy and national economic growth by building fertile environments for new and growing companies to thrive.

The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivating to all the participants.
