Entrepreneurship : A Driver of Economic Development

On 30th Sep. 2022 the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in association with Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution’s Innovation Council organised an expert talk on “Entrepreneurship :A Driver of Economic Development” @ 1.30p.m.-4.00 P.M. Mr.A.Sumil Kumaran, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering was the resource person. 56 students and 2 staff members participated in the program.

The resource person explained the concept of Entrepreneurship and the need for becoming an entrepreneur. He underlined the key characteristics of an entrepreneur and told that the entrepreneurship is an economic activity which plays an important role in generating revenue for any business. The speaker said that entrepreneurship also reduces the regional imbalance and redistribute the wealth. Moreover, he stressed the engineers to opt for entrepreneurship as the career option and provide jobs to others. The resource person highlighted the employment generating potentials of entrepreneurship. It helps to create new businesses and jobs, stimulates the economy, and brings fresh ideas and innovation to the marketplace. From this workshop students got lot of new ideas to develop business establishments. Students benefitted a lot by gaining knowledge about entrepreneurship and the role it plays in enhancing the economic situation
