On 24.09.2024 a Talk on "Entrepreneurship: A gate way to Economic Prosperity" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The session was handled by Mr. N.V Selvam, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 01.30 PM – 4.30 PM. 41 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha AP/EEE. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.
The program started with the welcome address and the introduction of the guest speaker by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The resource person, explained the importance of specific qualities required for aspiring entrepreneurs, such as problem-solving, decision-making, risk-taking, and the relevance of creativity and innovation. He encouraged students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the entrepreneurial mindset and the essential qualities and traits needed for success in the business world. He talked about business planning and strategy, emphasizing the importance of a clear business model, a comprehensive marketing plan outlining strategy, and detailed financial projections providing insights into revenue. He also highlighted the need for an operational plan to outline the day-to-day operations of the business. He encouraged students to build a successful startup and provided very informative insights into the right approach for setting up any startup. He emphasized the importance of having faith in oneself and in one's goals, as clear goals help achieve dreams.
The session greatly benefited to all the young innovators planning their startups and businesses, boosting their motivation to the next level. The participants asked various questions during the session, further enhancing their understanding and motivation.
