Entrepreneurship Development Program

From 23rd to 25th April 2024 for 3 days “Entrepreneurship Development Program” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department Vazhndhu Kattuvom Project in association with Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the Management Studies Department and Institution’s Innovation council. Three EDII trainers namely, Mr.B.Mohamed Fazil, Dr.S.Mahaletchumi and Dr.S.Gayathri were involved in giving training on various topics like Entrepreneurship Development, Marketing and Financial Management. 35 Nano Entrepreneurs from Tirunelveli District attended the training program. On all the days the sessions were conducted from 10.00 a.m to 4.30 p.m

On 23.04.24, the program was started with the welcome address by Mrs.Radha Executive Director Vazhndhu Kattuvom Project. Felicitation address was given by Dr Lourdes Poobala Rayen, IIC Convener and Director of Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Francis Xavier Engineering College. He motivated nano entrepreneurs and insisted the necessity of accepting changes and trends in today’s competitive world. He shared about product import/ export and e- commerce platforms. Then, Mr. Ganapati Pandian, Vazhndhu Kattuvom Project director delivered about loan and their benefits and also the agenda of three days training and initiation of VKP in motivating nano entrepreneurs.

In the afternoon session, Mohamed Faizal, EDII TN trainer shared the real examples to cultivate self confidence in mind and also he shared about the opportunities and competition in business world. He quoted successful entrepreneurs like Ramaraj Cotton, Arockia Milk and their entrepreneurial journey. He explained the importance resources available locally and how to use resources. He explained the advantage of job providers. Then he motivated participants to present their business and gave valuable suggestions to improve them.

On 24.04.24, second day the EDII TN trainer Dr. S. Mahaletchumi, shared about business plans and ideas. Then, she explained about the strategy of business which includes business market, needed resources for business, market demand and need, financial calculation and most importantly recruitment of skilled labour. The major communication of product is marketing. She clearly explained about the digital marketing and free advertisement to attract customers. She advised the participants to read the newspaper regularly. She conducted games to make the participants energetic and glued to the program.

On 25.04.2024, Dr. S. Gayathri, EDII TN trainer explained about Financial Management in business including all expenses, profit, loss, debt and shares. She shared the financial content with simple example to understand easily for participants. In the afternoon session, trainer shared about business processing development and the program came to an end with valedictory function. In the valedictory function Mr. Ganapati Pandian, Vazhndhu Kattuvom Project director appreciated the participants for the effective participation. Mr.Siva Baarathy, District Coordinator EDII delivered the vote of thanks.
