From 1st Dec to 3rd Dec 2022 Tamil Nadu Government Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department in association with Entrepreneurship Development Centre of Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli. The District Officer, Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project B.Ramlal, IOB, Mr.Somasundaram, Director, Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen, Director, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Francis Xavier Engineering College, and Mr.Thomas Rex participated in the program.
The IOB RSETI director explained the various schemes through which the government of Tamil Nadu is extending the support to the entrepreneur. Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen spoke about the role of entrepreneurship and the opportunities available in the rural areas giving real life examples to the participants.
Mr.Thomas Rex, EDII Trainer discussed about the SWOC analysis wherein he explained the Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Challenge. The resource person gave lot of examples for each concept.
Mr.Mohamed Kurshid Khan, Asst. Professor, Sadhak Abbudulla Appa College gave a speech on the Business Models and Project Report. The speaker explained all the business models with lot of examples. He also explained the steps to prepare the project report. He asked all the participants to prepare and present the project report.
On 2.12.2022 (second day) training was started by Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen, Director, Entrepreneurship Development Cell. He explained how to identify the entrepreneurial opportunities and conduct market survey. He gave more examples to the participants about the opportunities in the rural areas and to promote entrepreneurship.
Mr.Ajit Kumar, EDII trainer spoke on marketing of the products or services. He highlighted the market research, exploring the market opportunities with lot of examples. He also spoke on the basic requirements for practicing entrepreneurship such as SWOT analysis, raw materials required, market requirements, technology required. He also spoke about pricing of the product wherein he outlined the need to consider the environment, government policies and procedures, profit and loss account and market research.
Mr.Mohamed Kurshid Khan, Asst. Professor, Sadhak Abdulla Appa College spoke on effective management strategies, technologies to be used to complete with the competitors, market reality, financial stability and environment
On 3.12.2022 Mr.Thambidurai, EDII trainer gave speech on Project report, Branding, Production, Service and business. He also spoke on the demand for the product wherein he explained the two types of demand namely elastic demand and in elastic demand with suitable examples. In addition to this the resource person explained the borrowing power. He also mentioned about the mentality of the borrower like people who borrow frequently and who borrow occasionally. In this connection the speaker addressed about the bad debts and managing debts in the business establishment.
Mr.Ganesan, General Manager, District Industries Centre addressed about the support provided by the Tamil Nadu Government for the promotion of entrepreneurship through District Industries Centre. He also gave details about the various funding opportunities through different schemes like UYEGP, PMEGP, NEEDS and MUDRA.
The training ended with the feedback given by the participants. Assistant Director from Rural Development department, Chennai addressed the meeting and he appreciated the participants and the trainers.
