From 18.9.2024 to 20.9.2024 "Entrepreneurship Development Training Programme for TNULM (Tamil Nadu Urban Livelihood Mission) Beneficiaries" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, Chennai in association with Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Management Studies department and IIC, Francis Xavier Engineering College, through offline mode from 10.00 AM- 05.30 PM with 50 nano entrepreneurs.
The Entrepreneurship Development Programme for TNULM (Tamil Nadu Urban Livelihood Mission) beneficiaries commenced on 18th September 2024. The event started with a Welcome Address by Mr. R. Palavesam, District Coordinator, EDII-TN, Tenkasi. He introduced the objectives of the programme and emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship for social and economic development in urban areas.
Mr. J. Joseph Saleth Arockiasamy, Assistant Project Officer, TNULM, Tirunelveli, addressed the gathering. He provided an insightful overview of the TNULM Schemes and its activities, explaining how the mission aims to enhance urban livelihoods and support micro-entrepreneurship. Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, IIC President and EDC Director of Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli, delivered a Special Address on entrepreneurial activities within the Tirunelveli region. He highlighted the significance of fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and how the Tirunelveli region has made notable strides in this regard.
The day's core session was led by Dr. A.A. Mohammed Faizal, Trainer, EDII-TN. He explained the SWOT Analysis, exploring the importance of identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in business planning. He also focused on Entrepreneurship Skills and Opportunities, helping participants understand the critical competencies needed for success. The session included interactive activities that engaged the participants and facilitated their learning.
The second day of the programme focused on critical business development topics. Dr. S. Mahaletchumi, Master Trainer, EDII-TN, led the day’s sessions, which were centered on Marketing and Digital Marketing strategies, essential tools for reaching wider audiences and growing businesses in the modern era. She also explained the Business Model Canvas, a strategic management tool that enables entrepreneurs to visualize their business in a structured and simplified way. The session included various activities that encouraged participants to apply the concepts learned to real-life business scenarios, ensuring they could effectively design and implement their own business models.
The final day of the programme featured Mr. J. Mohammed Nowsath Sheriff, Master Trainer, EDII- TN, who led an engaging session on Financial Management. He provided comprehensive insights into the management of business finances, the role of Government Supports and Schemes, and the importance of GST usage in promoting business growth. He also introduced participants to the concept of Generative AI Tools for Business Development, explaining how AI can help automate business processes and support innovation. He wrapped up the session with practical activities, enabling participants to explore how these tools can be integrated into their businesses
The event concluded with a Special Address by Mr. S. Elakkuvan, Project Director, TNSRLM/TNULM, Tirunelveli. He highlighted the essential role of Women Development in driving societal growth and urged participants to harness their entrepreneurial potential to contribute to community development.
The programme successfully concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. M. Siva Baarathi, District Coordinator, EDII-TN, Tirunelveli. He thanked the trainers, participants, and the organizing team for their efforts. The programme received positive feedback from the participants, who expressed their gratitude for the valuable insights and hands-on experience provided.
