On 07.10.2024 session on "Diving into Opportunities: Income-Generating Skills and Entrepreneurship in the Aquarium Business " was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Management Studies department and IIC through offline mode. The session was handled by Prof.P.Selvakumar AP/MBA, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 09.30 PM- 12.30 PM on 07.10.2024. 45 students and one faculty participated in the program.

The session aimed at enlightening the aspiring entrepreneurs and students about the vast business potential within the aquarium industry and the skills required to succeed in this venture. The resource person gave the introduction to the aquarium business, where he explained the various facets of the industry. He discussed the increasing demand for both freshwater, marine aquariums and the growing trend of using aquariums for home decor and wellness purposes. The expert highlighted how the industry offers a wide array of opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs, such as setting up aquarium shops, offering aquarium maintenance services, or providing custom aquarium installations for homes, offices, and commercial spaces. He also touched on the growing demand for aquascaping, an artistic approach to aquarium design.

After the tea break, various business models like retail service based, Breeding and supply, public aquarium were discussed. The expert elaborated on the skills required to generate income in this niche sector, such as fish breeding, aquascaping, water chemistry management, and customer relationship management. He stressed the importance of technical knowledge in managing aquatic ecosystems and marketing skills to attract and retain customers.

He continued explaining about a small-scale aquarium business with limited capital, the legal and environmental regulations surrounding the aquarium trade, and the potential for exporting exotic fish. The expert talk provided valuable insights into the aquarium business, inspiring participants to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in this growing industry. Finally, the session was ended with feedback and vote of thanks by students
