On 21.10.2024 session on " Expert Talk on Exploring Entrepreneurial Mindset” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Management Studies department and IIC. The session was handled by Prof.S.Lirish Lenny Paul AP/MBA, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 02.00 PM- 04.00 PM on 21.10.2024. 40 students and one faculty participated. Dr.V.M.Sangeetha, EDC Coordinator of Management Studies department coordinated the program.
The resource person started the session by highlighting the characteristics essential for entrepreneurial success, the challenges that entrepreneurs commonly face, and featured a practical demonstration on launching an Amazon online store. The resource person emphasized that understanding and adopting the right entrepreneurial mindset is crucial for achieving business success, aligning with the Institution’s Innovation Council's goal of promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
Key characteristics highlighted during the session included risk-taking, innovation, resilience, vision, goal-setting, leadership, and decision-making skills. These traits are necessary for entrepreneurs to navigate the uncertainties of business. Alongside these traits, the session discussed challenges like securing finances, handling market competition, predicting consumer behaviour, managing growth, and integrating technology, which are frequent obstacles for new entrepreneurs.
To make the learning experience more practical, the session included a live demonstration on setting up an Amazon online store. Students learned how to create a seller account, optimize product listings and fundamental ideas in online store. The demo demonstrated how e-commerce platforms like Amazon simplify the process of starting an online business, making digital entrepreneurship a more accessible and cost-effective option for new entrepreneurs aiming to enter the global market. The session was concluded with the vote of thanks and feedback by students of I MBA.
