Expert Talk on Innovation: From creativity to entrepreneurship specialization

On 17.11.2022 an expert talk on “Innovation: From Creativity to Entrepreneurship Specialization” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the department of CIVIL. The session was handled Mr. P. Selva Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli. The students from second year CIVIL and faculties participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Mrs. P.Raja Priya, EDC Coordinator, Assistant professor, department of CIVIL, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 01.30 PM - 04.00 PM. 45 students and 2 staff members participated in the program.

The speaker started the session by giving explanation for creative thinking and critical thinking and addressed how these thoughts would be useful in identifying and capitalizing business opportunities. The speaker explained how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset among the students by explaining the Startup enterprise “My Harvest”, which is owned by Ms. Archana Stalin an engineering graduate. While he was explaining the Startup enterprise “My Harvest”, he explained how Ms. Archana Stalin manage the situations during uncertainities and motivates the students to handle the problem while starting a business. He also explained how to assess the feasibility of new venture and the diversity of challenges. The speaker ended the session with a quote “ Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune”. The session was very much useful and all the participants benefitted through the session.
