Expert Talk on Innovation in the Package Industry-An Initiative Towards Entrepreneurship

On 18.11.2022 an expert talk was organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution innovation Council in association with the Department of Computer Applications on the topic "Innovation in the Package Industry-An Initiative Towards Entrepreneurship”. Mr.R.Albert Paulin Michael AP/MCA, FXEC delivered the lecture from 1.30 pm - 4.00 pm. 50 students and 2 staffs were actively participated in the session.

The resource person started the session by saying that Entrepreneurship is the buzzword in India today as more number of startups are developing and thereby creating new businesses opportunities. While explaining the new emerging areas he gave lot of examples wherein the package industry is one among them. He listed the various innovation in the package industry to increase resource efficiency, eliminate waste and reduce environmental impact through improved design and the use of alternative materials. He talked about the future of Package Industry in India which has grown at 10-11% from the past several years and sustain for a period of decade. He stated about technologies of Package Industry like Biodegradable Packaging, Digital Printing, Packaging Automation, 3D Printing etc. The explanation evoked good response from the students and the students enthusiastically asked lot of questions about the modern packaging materials and the packaging methods. It was an interactive session and all the students benefitted through this program.
