On 6th December 2024, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC, in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering, organized an expert talk on “Innovative Strategies for Startup Success”. The resource person for the program was Mrs.M.Thanalakshmi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies at Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli. 42 civil engineering Students attended the program. Mrs. P. Raja Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, FXEC, coordinated this session.
The expert talk focused on strategies and innovative approaches essential for startups to thrive in today’s competitive entrepreneurial environment. The resource person shared insights into understanding market needs, building robust business models, and utilizing creativity to tackle challenges. Also, she emphasized the importance of leadership, teamwork, and adaptability in achieving growth and sustainability. Using real-life examples of successful startups, she demonstrated how innovative strategies contribute to their success and provided practical advice on networking, risk management, and customer engagement.
In addition, she addressed the common challenges faced by startups during their early stages, such as funding limitations, limited market reach, and intense competition. She proposed actionable solutions, including strategies for securing venture capital, building a loyal customer base, and leveraging digital marketing tools. Her suggestions on utilizing government schemes and support systems were particularly beneficial for students aspiring to establish their ventures. She also encouraged participants to adopt a problem-solving mindset and think creatively, emphasizing that innovation is the key to success.
The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students actively engaged by asking questions and seeking guidance on startup-related issues. The resource person’s practical approach and engaging delivery made the session both insightful and motivating. The talk equipped students with valuable knowledge and strategies, inspiring them to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys with confidence.
