Expert Talk on Reduce, Recycle, Reuse the Wastes in daily Routine: An Entrepreneurial Opportunity

On 9.11.2022 the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of IT department and IIC organized an expert talk on the topic “Reduce, Recycle, Reuse the Wastes in Daily Routine: An Entrepreneurial Opportunity”. The session was handled by Mrs.S Poornam, Assistant Professor, Department of AI/DS, FXEC. This program was organized for III year B.Tech students. 50 students participated in the session. The program was coordinated by Dr.L. Gandhimathi, EDC Coordinator of IT department.

The resource person explained the growing problems regarding the waste which accumulates every day. She explained all the three “R” used in the title such as reduce, reuse, recycle with lot of live examples. She also highlighted how the waste can be minimised by using alternative methods. She gave examples of the plastic waste that are accumulated in the beaches, river beds and all the hill stations. This creates lot of environmental problems. It is very much imperative to find an alternative solution to avoid this environment problem. At the same time there is an opportunity to convert the wastes into wealth. She gave few examples like plastics to some other usable products, Coco pith to Coco pith blocks etc.

She also inspired the students with lot of solution for the wastes which accumulates every day in all the plays by creating environmental problems. The session was an interactive one where the students were very much participative.
