Expert Talk on Sharing the Entrepreneurial Experience for the Mechanical Engineers

On 20th Sep. 2023 an “Expert Talk on Sharing the Entrepreneurial Experience for the Mechanical Engineers” was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institution’s Innovation Council in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 09:30 am to 12.30 pm. Mr.S.Gokulakrishanan, Student Entrepreneur, Final Year Mechanical, FXEC was the resource person. 40 students and one faculty participated in the program. Dr.R.K.A.Bhalaji, AP/MECH coordinated the program.

Resource person began with an introduction to the concept of entrepreneurship and its relevance to mechanical engineers. He emphasized that entrepreneurship is not limited to creating tech startups but can also be applied to various mechanical engineering domains. He shared his personal entrepreneurial journey, detailing the challenges he faced, the lessons learned, and the milestones achieved. The resource person discussed how mechanical engineers can identify opportunities in the market, emphasizing the importance of innovation and problem-solving skills. He highlighted several success stories of mechanical engineers who ventured into entrepreneurship and created groundbreaking products. The talk delved into the crucial aspects of developing a business plan, including market research, funding options and competitive analysis.

The resource person stressed the need for a well-structured plan as the foundation of any successful venture and shared the strategies to overcome these challenges also. He emphasized the value of networking and seeking mentorship within the entrepreneurial ecosystems and he encouraged participants to connect with experienced entrepreneurs and gather their knowledge and expertise. The session concluded with the Q&A session, wherein, the students asked few questions about the business opportunities in the field of mechanical engineering. The participants enjoyed the session and gathered lot of information from the resource person.
