Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the idea that a company should play a positive role in the community and consider the environmental and social impact of business decisions. A Guest talk was organized for the students of the Department of Master of Business Administration of FXEC on 30th September 2022 from 10.00 AM - 11.30 AM on the topic “Corporate Social Responsibility and Its Importance”. Mr.R.Ramachandran Region Coordinator - Madurai Regional Hubs - EDII TN and Field Coordinator - EDII Hub, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai was the guest speaker. Mr.P.Selvakumar Assistant Professor, MBA Department welcomed the resource person for the Online Guest Lecture Programme. The speaker gave a brief introduction on Corporate Social Responsibility. He stated that many companies during COVID-19 supported the nation and its people, rolled out through five missions, continued to pivot and intensified through the year, based on the urgent and emerging needs. He also added that Mission Oxygen and Mission Vaccine Suraksha were rolled out to meet the needs of the nation for medical oxygen and community vaccinations. He emphasized the importance of CSR to build a stronger, inclusive nation by enabling lives and livelihoods and further added that throughout the year, the concerted action reinforced the promise that every available resource would be deployed to meet the needs of the most vulnerable communities across India. The session was informative and thought provoking to all the students and staff. The session came to an end with vote of thanks by Ms.S.GAYATHRI II MBA. Nearly 60 students and 2 staff members participated in the program.
