On 08.05.2024 Guest Lecture of “Cultivating Innovation in the Entrepreneurial Journey” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the Management Studies Department and Institution’s Innovation council. The resource person was Dr. S.B. Jeshrun Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies Francis Xavier Engineering College .The session was coordinated by Dr.V.M.Sangeetha, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Francis Xavier Engineering College, from 9.30 to 10.15 on 08.05.24. 30 students are participated.

The program coordinator welcomed the guest speaker. The speaker started his speech by highlighting the entrepreneurial journey of the Indian entrepreneurs citing the examples. He also explained the role of innovation in the success of the entrepreneurial journey. While giving a lot of examples of successful entrepreneurs he listed the innovative ideas which can be converted in to business ventures. Interestingly he asked the students to present their innovative business ideas. Then he highlighted the role of the government in promoting entrepreneurship and developing the startups through various funding schemes.

Then he presented existing innovations and motivated students to think innovatively to enter into entrepreneurship. He talked about embracing change such as adaptability, growth mindset, resilience to become successful entrepreneur. After the tea break, he presented how to navigate risk and failure such as risk assessment, failure and learning. He discussed few case studies to highlight the strategies to be followed to succeed in the entrepreneurial journey. The participants interacted with the guest speaker with enthusiasm and gathered lot of information from the interaction.
