GUEST LECTURE ON IMPORTANCE OF SUSTAINABILITY IN CURRENT SCENARIO

On 31st, October 2023, the Department of Management Studies organized a guest lecture on "Importance of Sustainability in current Scenario.” Ms.Abarna - II MBA welcomed and introduced the guest. The Chief Guest Mr.S.Sundaresan, Secretary, Indian Sleep Products Federation, a prominent expert in the field of environmental science and sustainability. The lecture aimed to provide insights into the pressing need for sustainable practices and how individuals and organizations can contribute to creating a more sustainable future. The resource person delved into the challenges faced by various industries in adopting sustainable practices, such as the shift towards renewable energy sources, waste management, and sustainable agriculture. He emphasized the ample opportunities available for businesses to integrate sustainability into their core strategies and operations. He also highlighted the adverse effects of inadequate sleep on overall health, including increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and mental health disorders. The audience gained insights into the correlation between quality sleep and the body's ability to repair and regenerate leading to improved immunity and better cognitive performance and also gave practical guidance on selecting the most suitable mattress based on individual sleep preferences, body type, and specific health considerations. The lecture emphasized the need for individuals to prioritize their unique comfort and support requirements when investing in a mattress to ensure optimal sleep quality and overall well-being. The programme ended successfully with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms.Sivasakthi - I MBA. The program was coordinated by Mr.P.Selvakumar, Assistant professor with the guidance of Mrs.D.
