A guest lecture on "Software Engineering Opportunities in America" was conducted on May 9, 2025, featuring Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Syed, a distinguished Software Engineer from TransAmerica, USA, as the resource person. The session was organized to enlighten students on the current trends, skill requirements, and future scope in the field of software engineering, especially in the context of global opportunities.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address and felicitation by Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan, who honoured the guest and introduced him to the audience. Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Syed began his lecture by emphasizing the top 10 certifications that significantly enhance employability in the software industry. He encouraged students to explore globally recognized credentials to strengthen their technical profile and stand out in the job market.
He further shared valuable insights on pursuing higher education opportunities, particularly Master’s programs in the USA and UK, highlighting the advantages, application process, and the competitive edge it offers in the international job arena.
Stressing the importance of communication skills and soft skill development, he advised students to work on their interpersonal skills to complement their technical abilities, as they play a crucial role during recruitment and in workplace collaboration.
