Guest Talk on Essentials of Entrepreneurship

On 11.11.2022 a guest talk on “Essentials of Entrepreneurship” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the department of CIVIL. The session was handled by Mr. Ryan Elshan, Proprietor, Ryan Engineering, Tirunelveli. The students from second year CIVIL and faculties participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Mrs. P.Raja Priya, EDC Coordinator, Assistant professor, department of CIVIL, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 09.00 AM - 12.30 PM. 45 civil engineering students and 2 faculties attended the program.

The speaker explained the meaning of entrepreneurship and the essentials of entrepreneurship. He said that entrepreneurship is an opportunity as the economically attractive and timely opportunity that creates value for those who are involved. He stated that commitment, determination, leadership, opportunity obsession, tolerance of risk, ambiguity, uncertainty, creativity, self-reliance, adaptability and motivation are the qualities that contribute to the attitudes and behavior of an entrepreneur. He explained the different types of entrepreneurs depending upon the activity they perform and he gave few examples for each type. The speaker also added few points on women entrepreneurs and motivates all the female students. The speaker concludes the session by explaining about the competitive advantages of entrepreneurial firms.
