On 9th June 2022 a Guest talk on “Inculcating Entrepreneurial Mindset among Budding Engineers” was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institutions’ Innovation Council from 11:45 to 12:35 PM through Online mode. The Guest speaker of the program was Mr. M. Ashok Kumar, Assistant Professor/ECE, SCAD College of Engineering and Technology. The resource person explained the need for entrepreneurship and the mindset one must have to enter into entrepreneurship. During his speech he highlighted the entrepreneurial opportunities available to start the startup.
The resource person also explained the entrepreneurial skills necessary to become entrepreneurs and mindset one must possess to become entrepreneur. He listed some of the specific characteristics like hard work, perseverance, honesty, commitment, dedication and decision making one needs to have in order to excel in any business venture.
The resource person gave examples like Dhirubhai Ambani. The entrepreneurial journey of one of the most successful entrepreneurs is reminiscent of the rags-to-riches story. His journey started at 16, when he moved to Aden (Yemen) where he worked as a gas-station attendant, and as a clerk in an oil company. The participants raised few questions related to the entrepreneurial opportunities and the government support to entrepreneurs. The resource person finally touched the business plan and how to develop the business plan. The interaction was good which helped the participants to understand the concept properly. 49 students and 2 staffs were actively participated in the session.
