Guest talk on Innovative Ideas for Business Startup through Design Thinking

On 16th June 2022 a guest talk on Innovative ideas for business startup through Design Thinking was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institution’s Innovation Council at 11:30 AM. The Guest speaker of the program was Dr. R. Prem Ananth, IIC Innovation Ambassador, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The resource person explained the different segments of design thinking namely Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. While explaining the different stages he gave lot of examples. He also highlighted how the design thinking process can be used for developing the innovative products. He also explains about the benefits of Design Thinking. He spoke about the need for promoting entrepreneurship among the engineering students and the startup initiatives. He highlighted the government initiatives to develop startup.

During his lecture he explained the design thinking concept with his own experience as the Innovation Ambassador for design thinking. The explanation given inspired all the participants. He explained why the engineers must enter into entrepreneurship and start their own startup. He highlighted few examples of startup founders and their startup ventures and inspired the students to go far innovation and start a startup company through innovation and design thinking. Participants gained knowledge about Design Thinking, creating innovative solutions and the process of solving business as well as social problems. 45 students and 2 staffs were actively participated in the session.
