IDEA CONTEST 2023

On October 6th 2023 Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with Department of Information and Technology organized an “IDEA CONTEST 2023”. The Idea Contest was organized exclusively designed for school students studying from 9th to 12th standard. Total of 32 schools participated in the event, representing a wide array of talent and creativity. Students from in and around of Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Tenkasi made the event truly diverse and competitive. A total of 75 teams consisting of 172 students participated in the Project Expo, showcasing their innovative ideas. This event was a platform to nurture the talents of young minds and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their innovative Ideas. Each project was evaluated by a panel of expert judges, and participants were given an opportunity to explain their projects in detail. The projects ranged from sustainable energy solutions to innovative tech models. The students were allotted adequate space and necessary tools for setting up their presentation from 9.30 AM to 4.00 PM. Mrs.Anupama Ratta, Head of HR, Tata Power Energy Limited, Dr. G. Simiyan, Assistant Director, MSME Tirunelveli and Madurai Branch, and Mr. Stephen, Technical Head, Tata Power Systems were the invited guest.

The participants displayed their innovative design, product and the models like Neon writing board, Blind cap, Blind Stick, avoid train accident, Automatic bridge lift for flood flowing, automatic vibuthi mechanic kit, Automatic prevent death in slump and septic tank, Automatic light dimmer, Automatic highway lighting system, security alarm system, Rain detector module, Line follower robot, Obstacle avoiding robot, Smart farming and Road accident prevention methods.

The innovative projects were evaluated by a team of expert by visiting their stalls and interviewing the product innovators. During this evaluation the experts raised lot of questions related to their project and gave suggestions to enrich the innovative ideas. The project exhibition came to an end with the valedictory function where the prizes were given to the winners and certificates were issued to the participants by the Principal of the college. The competition created a motivation to do more and to innovate new ideas. Students were also visited the project presented by the students.
