Ideation Techniques for Problem Solving

On 29.11.2023 a talk on " Ideation Techniques for Problem Solving " was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The session was handled by Mrs. S.Laxmi, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 01.30 PM – 4.30 PM. 43 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha AP/EEE.

The program started with the welcome address by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The resource person began with the importance of problem-solving skills and its intricacies in one’s life and explained what differentiated the successful people from those who failed, and the reason (ignorance to understand problem and its solution). She explained the seven steps to solve problems like Identify the issues, understand everyone’s interests, list the possible solutions, evaluate the options, select an option or options, document the agreement, agree on contingencies, monitoring, and evaluation. She explained competencies which are required to fix the problem that would help the individual to play all his roles successfully, both at personal and professional front. She also explained the steps to solve problem and emphasized that we should not allow the negative thoughts to escalate and in fact deviate and change its directions by thinking of all possible solutions. She talked about the famous game changer personalities and conducted interesting activities to judge student’s ability to handle stress and problems.
