On 10th May, 2024 the Entrepreneurship Development Centre and IIC in association with Mechanical Engineering department organized a discussion “Igniting the Young Minds towards Entrepreneurship”. Dr.K.Vinukumar, AP/Mech, FXEC was the resource person. 44 students and 1 staff member participated in the program.
The speaker explained the concept of entrepreneurship and why entrepreneurship must be promoted among the students. He gave live examples from the successful Indian entrepreneurs. The resource person explained the entrepreneurial skills required to run the concern successfully. He also highlighted the successful startups such as Meesho, Swiggy, Ola Cabs and Razorpay etc. The guest speaker gave number of innovative ideas in the field of mechanical engineering which can be explored by the mechanical engineering students. He also explained the government support in the for starting a startups and the financial support provided by the government through different schemes. The speaker highlighted the opportunities available to start a business establishment in the industrial estates under the control of SIDCO and SIPCOT.
The session was very much interactive, students interacted freely with the guest speaker and gathered more information.
